Role Summary

SEARCH is looking for a motivated individual who is looking to get their start in the Civil design realm, who has experience working with AutoCAD. Prospective candidates will be working with and taking guidance from industry professionals on a daily basis. Applicants should be familiar with and have work experience using AutoCAD.

This full-time position will be based out of SEARCH’s Norman office, Monday through Friday, and on the road as individual jobs require. Base salary ranges from $31,200 to $52,000 per year and is based on job-related skills, knowledge, and industry experience. Advancement opportunities towards technician, designer, and manager positions are available as employees acquire knowledge and experience in the field. The role is eligible for a discretionary, company-performance-based bonus in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.

This role will require the ability to work outside in the field on occasion. General labor and construction site visits may be required. Site visits may include construction observation, field sampling, instrument installation, data collection, and use of GNSS and other field equipment. Overnight travel may be required, depending on the job location. Per diem is available for overnight travel. On very minor occasions, extended hours may be required for tasks such as 24-hour composite sampling.

Applicants can expect, on average, an 80/20 split between office and field duties, depending on the specific job requirements. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at elevation and in confined spaces as needed. Basic field gear, including PPE, will be provided as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Preparation of engineering plans, maps, diagrams, and schematics with the use of AutoCAD

· Work with and take direction from supervisors and engineers

· Conduct oneself in a professional manner

· Site construction visits

· Water, wastewater, and soil sampling

While these primary duties will form the core of the applicant’s role, it's important to note that this list is not exhaustive. Search is a small engineering firm, which means applicants will have the opportunity to contribute to other tasks that keep Search moving forward, providing a diverse and dynamic work environment.

Fundamental Skills

· AutoCAD

· MS Word & Excel

· Good interpersonal communication skills

· Fluent in English (written and verbal)

· File and data management

Qualifications

· AutoCAD technical certification or degree

· 1 years minimum experience with AutoCAD in a professional setting

· High School Diploma

· Valid Driver’s License

· Clean driving record for the past 5 years

· Pass drug testing

· Pass a standard employment background check
