Layout Editor / Production Graphic Designer

Position:
Full-Time
Expires: 11/28/2026
Salary: $16.00 - $18.00/hour
Job Description:

About A.R.K. Ramos
A.R.K. Ramos Foundry & Manufacturing Company is a family-owned Oklahoma City manufacturer of cast and etched metal plaques, dimensional letters, and architectural signage, serving customers nationwide for 80 years. We are known for craftsmanship and customer service, and we are adding a full-time Layout Editor to our art department.

The Role
This is a production art role, not a purely creative one. You will take artwork and text supplied by customers, architects, and sign companies and re-typeset, clean up, or adjust it so it can be cast, etched, or fabricated to our manufacturing requirements. You will work on-site under our Art Director as part of a small, close-knit design team.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Build layouts and customer approval proofs/submittals for plaques and letters from customer-supplied art and specifications
  • Re-typeset text and adjust letter spacing, kerning, line length, and sizing to fit casting and fabrication limits
  • Turn around proof revisions promptly based on customer and customer service feedback
  • Prepare accurate, production-ready files for the shop
  • Track and check off assigned tasks on each order in our CRM (HubSpot)
  • Communicate clearly with the Art Director, customer service, and production about job status and questions
  • Meet daily productivity and turnaround goals

This role is a great fit for a detail-oriented Graphic Design or CAD graduate who enjoys typography, precision, and seeing their work become permanent pieces installed in buildings across the country.

Other Skills/Certifications Wanted:
Adobe Illustrator (required); Photoshop and InDesign helpful. CorelDRAW or AutoCAD a plus. Strong typography skills (kerning, letter spacing, font matching). Experience with a CRM/task system such as HubSpot a plus. Sign, print, or manufacturing production experience a plus.
Job Requirements:
Training or experience in graphic design software, Adobe Illustrator preferred. Strong typography and layout fundamentals. High attention to detail; checks own work before proofs go out. Dependable attendance and punctuality for a full-time, on-site role in Oklahoma City. Clear, proactive communication and professional response to feedback. Able to manage multiple orders at once in a fast-paced production environment. Portfolio or work samples required.
