The hourly rate is $15.00 which translates to $31,200.00 per year.

General Work Schedule:

Position typically works Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm in-office at UCO’s main campus in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Position Overview:

Responsible for the receiving, sorting and delivery of incoming, outgoing mail and campus mail. Responsible for the receiving, inspection, and delivery of incoming packages.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

Serves as a representative of the University, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the UCO community and with the public. Provides general information to patrons about the operations of the Inventory & Receiving and Campus Mail Services Departments. Assists with the receiving of packages from carriers and makes assessments regarding damaged packages and/or goods. Matches incoming deliveries with purchase orders. Enters the pertinent data into a computer-based package tracking system.  Assists with the pick-up, sorting and delivery of USPS and campus mail to the appropriate campus departments on a daily route using a vehicle. Assists with the delivery of packages to campus departments on a daily route using a vehicle. Coordinates and performs delivery of merchandise to campus departments. Operates forklift to transport heavy/bulk items to delivery destination. Picks up and delivers all outbound packages and USPS mail to NUC Postal Station. Assists with reconciliation of receiving documents (packing slips) with purchase orders and inventory guidelines. Inputs daily work activities performed into FAMIS. Responsible for checking and maintaining vehicle maintenance log on delivery vehicles. Cleans and maintains receiving dock and mailroom area. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

General education or vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to operate a typical motor vehicle.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred:

Experience as inventory clerk or shipping and receiving clerk. Experience in operating a forklift.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

General knowledge of inventory procedures and shipping regulations preferred. Ability to work with numbers. Good organizational and communication skills.

This position requires a physical.  The physical requirements are:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and carry 200 feet
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and carry up/down 30 stairs
  • Ability to walk regularly for long periods of time across the campus
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to use and reach with hands and arms regularly
  • Ability to climb in high places using a ladder or balance frequently
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and crawl occasionally
  • Ability to push or pull dolly loaded with up to 120 pounds for 300 feet occasionally
  • Must have close, distance, and peripheral vision
  • Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
